Homestead House is designed for a client with fond memories and a close association of living on a farm. They had a nostalgic connection to the materiality, roof forms and flowing plan arrangements of traditional farmhouses.

The plan is arranged around two corridors that are off-set from each other. The meeting point being a double height entry hallway built from rammed earth and Spotted Gum timber with a glazed skylight over.

Intended as a nostalgic reference to the remnant brick chimneys often see dotting rural landscapes. The last remaing relic of a abandoned country homesteads.
